Rosalind Fenwick

Rosalind Fenwick has been in the intellectual property profession since 2006.  She is a Chartered Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney.  She has a first class degree in Physics from Oxford University.

Rosalind has extensive experience of managing patent portfolios, including running invention disclosure meetings, drafting applications, managing international prosecution of those applications through to grant, and post-grant opposition and appeal procedures at the EPO.

Rosalind has particular experience handling contentious matters involving US patents. This experience includes: preparing infringement and validity opinions; attending license negotiation meetings; preparing and managing prosecution of post-grant re-examination proceedings; and aiding litigation proceedings including identifying prior art, preparing invalidity contentions and Markman claim construction submissions.

Other experience Rosalind has gained includes performing due diligence operations, advising on technology transfers, and preparing IP agreements such as assignments, non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality agreements.

Technology areas in which Rosalind has particular experience include the fields of wireless networks (including Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and chirps), IC chip design, SoC design, real time location systems (indoor and outdoor) and television networks and set top boxes.

In her Physics degree at Oxford University, Rosalind specialised in particle physics and theoretical physics (focussing on general relativity and relativistic quantum mechanics).  She was awarded the University Prize for best final year particle physics project. The project, entitled Quantum Mechanics with Mathematica, involved modelling the Dirac Oscillator using the programming language Mathematica.
