Arnie Francis

Arnie Francis has been in the intellectual property profession since 2011.  He is a Chartered Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney.

He has experience in prosecuting patent applications across a wide-range of jurisdictions, including the US, Europe, Japan and China.  He has experience in several areas of technology including mechanical and automotive technologies, television networks, electronics and wireless communications, and has drafted standards-related patent applications for Bluetooth and 3GPP. 

Arnie has worked with companies ranging from start-ups to multinationals, and has experience of attending inventor disclosure meetings, performing prior art searches and has assisted in preparing infringement and validity opinions.

In his third year at Cambridge University, Arnie specialised in astrophysics, graduating top of his class with a First Class degree.  For his Master’s degree, he studied aeronautics at Imperial College London.  His master’s degree included modules in laminated composites, control systems and aeroelasticity.  His work for his research project contributed to a paper that has been published in The Aeronautical Journal: Nguyen SN, Greenhalgh ES, Graham JMR, Francis A, Olsson R, 2014, Runway debris impact threat maps for transport aircraft, Aeronautical Journal, Vol:118, ISSN:0001-9240, Pages:229-266.
